Our Story
Founded in 2009 and registered as a Trust in 2009, the Trust for the Mediation for Peace Centre is an independent, non-profit organization. It engages in research, community interventions, policy formulation, advocacy, education and training.
For more than ten years MPC has worked to understand violence, heal its effects, reconcile communities and build sustainable peace in Zimbabwe, the continent and elsewhere in the world. In particular, MPC undertakes targeted research and advocacy in partnership with civil society affected communities in order to hold state, continental and global institutions accountable.
A multidisciplinary institute, MPC’S expertise and skills set offer a comprehensive integrated service. MPC’s work is rooted in an analysis of the shifting forms of conflict and violence within societies enduring a transition to democracy.
We have been a beacon of peace and justice for over a decade.
Our Founder
Tamsanqa Mlilo is a notable figure in human rights and civil society, with diverse career in advocacy and nonprofit work. He is the founding Director of the Mediation for Peace for Peace and Human Rights Centre., an organization that focus on advancing and defending human rights through strategic thinking and research. Mlilo has a significant footprint in civil society across various countries., working to promote human rights and social justice.
Mlilo achievements also include his contributions to literature and public discourse. He is an active blogger, where he discusses topics ranging from decolonization and geopolitics to philosophy and economics. His writings reflect a deep commitment to addressing historical injustices and advocating for the rights of marginalized communities.
Tamsanqa Mlilo has written extensively about Zimbabwe, focusing on its political history and social issues. He has commented on various significant events and figures in the country’s history.

MPC’s vision is peaceful, equal and violent free society and promotion of democratic values which put citizens at the centre of decision making and development. Our mission is to promote sustainable peace, tolerance, forgiveness, healing at community, national, regional and global levels by understanding, preventing and addressing the effects of violence and inequality.

MPC’s values are used to guide all decision making processes- who we work with, where we work, how we do our work.
